Aston Chace Group: Insolvency has more than one audience

UX / UI DESIGN + WEB DEVELOPMENT

Aston Chace Group is a Sydney insolvency, restructuring and advisory practice. Two principals, three directors, and a team of senior practitioners.

The people using them are frequently not the client.

A director considering restructuring is one audience. A creditor of a company already in administration is a completely different one. They didn't choose to be there, they need specific information about a specific matter, and they are often distressed. Serve only the first and you leave the second calling the office. Serve them the same way and you get the tone wrong for both.

So the site runs a dedicated creditors section alongside the three service lines, insolvency, restructuring and advisory, with the practical information a creditor actually needs, separated from the material aimed at prospective clients.

The practitioner profiles carry individual contact details and full CVs, presented through expandable modals rather than separate pages. In this field, appointments follow named individuals with specific registrations, not firms, so the person has to be as findable as the service.

That separation is visible in the creditors directory. Matter-type filters distinguish liquidation, receivership and voluntary administration, with a Show all option for a broader view. The controls use the names a visitor may already have encountered in correspondence. Someone arriving with a particular matter in mind can therefore use that context as their starting point, rather than having to interpret the firm's service proposition before finding the relevant area.

The team directory has its own set of role filters, alongside named portraits and individual biography controls. Names and roles are visible before the reader opens a full profile. That gives the page a useful hierarchy: first identify the person, then read their background in more detail. It supports visitors who arrive through a referral as well as those who need to understand the practice's structure for the first time.

Both directories use a consistent visual language of large headings, clearly separated controls and restrained colour accents. The familiarity comes from the layout, while the content and filters stay specific to each audience. That distinction was central to the design problem. Professional credibility has to sit alongside practical access to information, and the website needs to make each route apparent without adding another layer of explanation to an already unfamiliar situation.
