What does an Account Manager do and why am I paying for it?

Do I really need an Account Manager?

It’s a question I’m not often directly asked, but as a one-time client myself, it’s one I definitely explored and came to understand and value deeply. With this blog I want to jump in front of this with you (so you don’t have to) and explain what my team of Account Managers do, so when that line item appears on your quote, you won’t be left unsure of its value.

What is an Account Manager?

Account Managers are your secret weapons. We’re the middle men and women between your business and the team of strategists, marketers, designers and developers handling your project work, digital marketing, strategy and everything else in between. We’re marketing all-rounders who essentially do whatever it takes to get the job done!

It’s our job to work with our clients, build relationships and work with you to determine what your business needs are. We then get on with the job of helping our internal agency team to execute this for you successfully, on time and to budget.

What does an Account Manager do?

At Zimple our Account Managers are far more than relationship builders who are trying to sell you things. We play a crucial long-term strategic role in your growth, and invest significantly in getting to know you and your business so we can ensure our agency delivers results that maximise your return and impact your bottom line.

We’re your eyes and ears, and master tug-of-war players. Internally, we enthusiastically debate and manage the project as if we ourselves were you. Externally, we work with you to ensure you understand and are satisfied with everything our team is producing and, on occasion, have been known to act as your own personal publicists; telling anyone and everyone who will listen how great your products/services are. After all, business is personal!

Ok, but why should I pay for that?

I mentioned earlier that Account Managers are your secret weapon. If used effectively by you, and communication is frequent, we can release you from the stresses and pressures of everything digital pertaining to your business. Our sole purpose is to ensure your digital business is handled – without you needing to absorb the burden of the workload and the stress that comes with it.

We work hard to get it done.

Your AM knows you and your business, and works every day to ensure your marketing goals are matched with the best solutions, continuing to deliver results. We keep a pulse on your business and your market, alongside our industry and digital economy, and as things change we ensure that your digital strategy evolves relevantly with them.

Stress? We’ll take that for you.

Have you felt you can’t afford nor justify a right-hand marketing man? Never mind, your AM fills that void. We’re brimming with ideas, suggestions and delight in being able to help you and your business solve a problem, manage a marketing/digital crisis, or just help you kill that new initiative or idea.

Busy? We’ll help you stay on track.

We help you and your project teams to stay on track. We get to know your communication preferences and habits and work to embed them into our processes, ensuring you never let yourself down, and we never let you down.

Success? We’ll deliver that for you.

There’s an experienced and large team behind your AM helping to get you results. However, we make you look good and won’t take any of the credit. We juggle all of the work, manage the team, pull together reports and presentations, all to help you impress – whilst you can absorb much of the credit for the results. If you’re winning, we’re winning!

Are you now convinced that we’re your secret weapon? Get to know our Account Management team...
